Welcome!
A while back I wrote a Ghostbusters 3 spec/fan fiction screenplay. And while the ‘story is so good it’s spooky‘ it turns out the biggest challenge was not in writing it … but in getting it read by the powers that be. This site is the story of my journey.... -MORE?-

Dreams.

We’ve all had them, but how often do we for better or worse actually follow them?

What you’re visiting here is one of those dreams. You see a while back I wrote a screenplay….

(You: oh crap he’s one of those. Me: what the hell are you doing in my head?)

A Ghostbusters 3 spec to be exact.

And it was good … really good.

But no matter how hard I tried – my agent tried – my industry friends tried – my  producer friends tried – my screenwriter friends tried – my actor friends tried – my priest tried – my lawyer tried … I could not get it read by the powers that be. (In case you’re Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Bill Murray or Ivan Reitman – yes, those powers be you.) Oh I did meet Dan once and got my screenplay to him – but getting it read, well that’s another story.

You see in contrast to television, where an aspiring writer can occasionally get their work seen or even purchased (and then maybe even go on to a successful career) - writing a spec for a franchise film (especially a franchise you don’t own the rights to) just doesn’t get done. It’s a no, no.

But I was naive. Young. Innocent. And under certain light conditions remarkably charming – so I persisted. Steeled by strange serendipity (the Red Bull of the soul) – I came to believe I was destined to get this thing read.

… But then I didn’t.

And my idea languished while others came forward and penned an authorized screenplay much to my chagrin.

And so unable to let go, unwilling to give up and needing closure like a junkie needs their next fix – after much floundering I found myself here. MyGB3.com. A site I’ve launched to get my screenplay read and my story told … so you know … and I can sleep.

So while my screenplay may never see the light of the silver screen – maybe, just maybe, it can grace the light of yours.

This is my story. My fable. My legend. Okay, really just my story.

Forged in hope. Drunk on delusion. Imbued with chunky lessons of painful goodness and topped with a dollop of bitterness.

This is MyGb3.com

PS – In case you’re a legal representative from Sony / Columbia, mygb3.com stands for ‘My Good Buddy the # 3′ and of course not my Ghostbusters 3, a property and title I do not own.
