Welcome!
A while back I wrote a Ghostbusters 3 spec/fan fiction screenplay. And while the ‘story is so good it’s spooky‘ it turns out the biggest challenge was not in writing it … but in getting it read by the powers that be. This site is the story of my journey.... -MORE?-

Hey gang!

The response to the MyGB3 twitter page has been wonderful and I’ve gotten to communicate, with many cool people. In fact the response has been so good that -

… my twitter account has been suspended.

- and I’m not exactly certain why. Perhaps my vast knowledge of Caesars frightens them? Here’s my post that I just sent to the Twitter folks (it’s a copy and paste so bare with the formatting):

I just got suspended. Um, I don’t know why exactly. Based on the other content and DM I’ve seen my tweets tend to be funny, fun or useful (so not for that). I’m not selling anything just want to raise awareness for my petition and plight. I’m a writer who launched a 30 day campaign on June 9th (the 25th anniversary of Ghostbusters) to get my GB3 fan fiction screenplay read by the powers that be (I’ve spent the last few years prior going through the regular channel of agent, lawyer, etc. with no luck even getting past the gatekeepers). I spend a good portion of the day at my computer responding to followers and looking for followers. I do not abuse my followers and try to put up only the best/funniest content via my blog at http://mygb3.com. Please reconsider my suspension. I think it coincides with a humorous tweet string that I started when I noticed my follower count go up and (like an Auctioneer I asked for 1 more, etc). If you check my tweet log, you’ll probably have a good laugh. If I’ve somehow abused resources, the system, let me know and I’ll stop whatever I was doing. I have 2 monitors so I kept tweetdeck opened on one and the twitter website open on the other this way I could better see, respond and interact with my followers. Did I break something in the process. I’m happy to just use the web OR tweetdeck if this is the case.

Anywho, I got up to 671 followers (which just blows my mind since I started on the 9th) before the account suspension. Thank-you all for showing an interest in my cause. I guess we’ll need to chat via other mediums such as my newly launched facebook fan page http://www.facebook.com/pages/MyGB3com/88504442466 , youtube (http://www.youtube.com/user/realmygb3, Tumblr (http://mygb3.tumblr.com/) and the good ol’ fashion blog here.

And a word to the wise (from apparently me the not so twitter-wise), if you are twittering with followers and you imitate an auctioneer (ie. 669 followers … do I hear 670?) that may, just may get your butt booted. Even if it’s just in jest. (Apparently humour has not been programmed into the Twitter algorithm, yet).

Disclosure of Context: I was goofing around with a couple followers and ran out of viable funny things to say so I pretended to be an auctioneer for a bit, this gotta laugh (which floored me when I got a gain of um, 5ish followers because of that little stunt and a retweet) – and then voila – suspended.

Fun stunts are good. Stunts that get you suspended from social networking sites – not so good.

If I’m not allowed to do whatever I did, then what justifies actor Peter Facinelli (@peterfacinelli) plugging for 500,000 followers to win a silly bet:

Peter Facinelli needs 500,000 followers on Twitter! Boyan needs. um, like 5. I’m not greedy, and I can barely respond to all the followers to begin with.

Hell, I’d gladly wear a yellow polka dot bikini next to him just to get my twitter account going again.

Apparently, there’s like a 5:500,000 ratio difference between my miniscule brashness and his.

Once again, (this time by technology) I’m reminded that I am a writer and an actor is an actor and the rules are apparently different for us both -

- at least on Twitter.

Lesson learned. Twitter hates me. I’m taking my ball home.

PS – I used Peter Facinelli only as an example of a current bet on Twitter (designed just raise one’s profile)and not to slam him, though I do wonder who he’s pointing at on his Twitter page:

PPS – Now that I am thoroughly addicted to the act of twittering, I will, starting tomorrow at 8am begin throwing random ‘tweets’ from my office window. Should any passer by happen to pick up a paper tweet – feel free to pass it along (retweet  it). If you have good aim and the winds on you side, you may also be able to thow me a tweet (paper only, brick tweets suck).
